HISTORY
CH. Starfire's I'm Too Sexy - February, 1995
The dream started in 1986 when I visited a Maltese breeder with a friend who was looking for a pet. The breeder was Mary Lou Porlick who is now a licensed AKC judge. She quickly taught me the difference between a pet and a show animal. A month later, I happened to attended a dog show and was truly hooked for life when I saw the Pomeranians being shown. I fell in love with them, but at the time, I didn't know the Pomeranian was one of the hardest breeds to own due to the high mortality rate of the babies.
My search for a "Pom" began by subscribing to all of the Pomeranian magazines available at the time. The first Pom I bought was a beautiful black and tan bitch, Bev-Nor's and Southland Tar Lacy. Everyone thought I paid too much for her, but I knew she was special. It was not an easy task for a novice with a black and tan Pomeranian, but I showed her myself and even though I didn't know what I was doing, she finished her championship quickly. Later, she was sent to be bred with her double grandfather, Ch. Bev Nor's Toasted Fudge which produced two Pomeranian puppies. Both puppies finished their championships by nine months of age. They were breeder-owner handled and that was the beginning of Starfire's Pomeranians.
There are no hidden secrets about breeding beautiful animals. One must work hard, have desire and have a good eye for the breed. Here at Starfire's, we strive to produce the best Pomeranians possible and we show the ones that stand out in the crowd.
